Tri-Med announces expansion into the Americas market

Released on : Nov. 22, 2023

Tri-Med is excited to announce the acquisition of global distribution rights for PYtest, the Urea Breath Test. In addition to its existing markets throughout the Asia Pacific Region and the Middle East, the acquisition grants Tri-Med access to the United States, Canadian and South American markets.

PYtest is the original urea breath test invented by founder of Tri-Med, Professor Barry Marshall. Professor Marshall famously won a Nobel Prize in Medicine, with Robin Warren, for discovering the causative link between Helicobacter pylori and stomach ulcers. PYtest is an essential enabler to assist Tri-Med in meeting its core purpose being the “detection and treatment of Helicobacter pylori globally.”

Professor Marshall expressed his excitement about the new developments, “I am ecstatic that Tri-Med has acquired global distribution rights for the product. I still fondly remember the original FDA trials we conducted in Charlottesville all those years ago. It is like welcoming a child back into the family!”

Tri-Med would like to acknowledge the support of regulatory consultant Chip Currey and the Immune Inc. team, who have advised on the transaction and subsequent licensing requirements and its 3PL, Reliable Healthcare Logistics who will assume responsibility for distribution throughout the Americas.
