A fluoroquinolones, is a new generation drug in the class of quinolone antibiotics. It has a broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is recommended in some guidelines as an option for treatment on management of Helicobacter pylori infection along with Proton Pump Inhibitors and amoxicillin.
Professor Barry Marshall
Tri-Med's medical director, Professor Barry Marshall, Nobel Laureate, developed the PYtest. Professor Marshall and Robin Warren M.D. were the first to discover the correlation between Helicobacter pylori and Gastric Ulcers.
